No matter how you look at it, you are generally screwed if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time.
There are several basic theories regarding criminal justice and its relation to individual rights and social control. Restorative justice, retributive justice, psychiatric imprisonment and transformative justice are models of criminal justice systems which try to explain how these institutions achieve justice.
